I have a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 Extended cab truck. It has just shy of 36,000 miles. Recently the speedometer has been acting weird. Sometimes it reads fine other times it won't read at all or only a little bit. I have dial gauges with the only portions being electronic display is the odometer and the transmition selector display. What would cause this?

It will need a new instrument cluster. It is a common problem. You should check with your local dealer to see if it is covered under a special policy.
