My CD player has a CD stuck inside of it and the unit will not release it, so I would like to remove the unit to fix or replace it. Will removing the unit cause any other issues(like starting the vehicle failure) and does the front panel just pop off or will it require special tools for removing the panel or the radio?

it will not affect anthing if you remove the radio.yes the bezel around the radio just pops off,and the radio is held in with 4 9/32 screws and unplug the antenna and 2 connectors and out the radio comes.if you replace the radio it will have to be reprogrammed with a tech 2 scan tool.
