Truck is full of Dex...when the engine runs, it seems to be make a high pitch whine.

The overheating warning light comes on. Is this a thermostat issue or water pump?

whining. thermostat wont cause that but a water pump that is going out sure will.

you can take it off the belt and turn it by hand feel if its hard to turn or feels sloppy or makes noise then you know its the water pump.
