My front Left wheel squeeled for 2 days but has now stopped my husband said it is the hub if it was something serious wouldn't the noise still be there and can further damage occur driviing it this way?

the squealing yur heard is probably the brake pads. they have a type of spring on it that when they are low it squeals. have your frontbrakes checked befor eyou do to much or any damage to the rotors...
