2005 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My truck just started to run rough and when I checked the codes, it came up with P0171 and P0300. The scan tool said that the system too lean bank 1 and the random/ multiple cylinder misfire. What could possibly be causing this. Also I noticed black stuff coming out of the exhaust when I last had the truck running. It just started doing this after a recent cold spell.

sounds like possibly a few problems.n first check the fuel pressure regulator for signs of fuel in the vacuum hose. the vacuum hose connects to the fuel rail where all the injectors are. remove hose and i bet you will see gas, this is from a ruptured fuel pressure regulator. the lean code is probably a bad o2 sensor because the truck is obviously running rich if you see black smoke. let us know
