the battery guauge spiked sometime between the time i hooked up my new camper and the time i got home. i have had other trailers/campers hooked to my truck of the same size or bigger. i never had a problem like this before. what could be the prob.

Have the charging system checked out thoroughly particularly the computer control of the alternator's field generation circuit-could be acting up
