2003 Chevy Silverado WATER PUMP ?

Engine Cooling problem
2003 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 141 K miles

ENGINE OVERHEATING.. ADD COOLANT AND WATER IT WORKS FINE FOR A WEEK OR 2 THEN NEEDS MORE. I SMELL ANTIFREEZE WHEN WALKING UP TO MY TRUCK. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH UPPER AND LOWER RAD. BELTS.. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A WATER PUMP PROBLEM? AND DO I HAVE TO PULL THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE OFF TO GET TO IT ?

Could be a water pump, try getting a bright flashlight and looking at it from the underside to seeif you can spot any leaks.You can get to it pretty easy if you remove the upper half of the fan shroud.You will need a wrench to remove the fan clutch though,it threads on the end of the water pump. Other than thta you can access the water pump bolts without removing too much stuff
