2003 Chevy Silverado trouble starting

Every time I try to start my truck it won't start. I have to keep hiiting the unlock button in between turning the key before it finally starts

when you say it wont start do you mean it wont try to turn over? or it trys to turn over just wont fire up.

will it not fire up unless you push the unlock button.
