I have jsut noticed a very small rear main seal oil leak. If I park the car it may leak a small 1" diameter spot overnight. Is this something I need to have looked at immediately. Can it cause further damage to something else?

Actually, if you made it to 160K with it just starting, you did really well. As far as concern, if it's that small, you should be fine. Just keep an eye on the oil level. If you keep it full, there shouldn't be a problem.

If you have other qustions, let me know.
