My Chevy 2500HD makes a popping sound when you hit the throttle and start to move and when you come to a complete stop. I just changed both upper ball joints, the pitman arm and the idler arm on the front end with no change. Does anyone know what is causing this sound?

I think I know, check the 4-wheel drive drive-line U-joints at the transfer case
