My speedometer recently started registering much slower than my actual speed or sometimes showing no speed at all. Sometimes it will work (apparently fine). Also, the tach shows a much slower RPM than it should. Then again, it may start working correctly. The light showing the transmission (PRND321) selection is very dim and difficult to see. What is the cause/repair?

More than likely the cluster has failed. To verify the speedo, install a scan tool and verify the PCM recognizes the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) signal.
