2002 Chevy Silverado Truck won't reverse

The truck will not go into reverse.
It had been driven about 3 hours with
one stop in between, and then when
attempted to shift to reverse, it would
not reverse. No problems with this
before.

usually a sign of an internal falilure.Have seen many of those trannies just lose gears when they break, and do it without warning.You can have the PCM scanned to see if it has logged any trans failures, just to see what is says.
