Tow Haul circuit self activates, have to shut off engine to reset to normal mode.

check the wiring to the tow/haul button on the gear selector. this wire often gets damaged from poor design by GM of the wire having to endure the gear selector moving back and forth from daily use.

The wire breaks off uder the gear shift boot.Good place to start.
