2001 Chevy Silverado right rear axle play

Checking over for a trip and I notice about 1/8" wheel play in right rear not due to wheel but in axle or bearings. What could it be and how soon or where to take it to have checked?

If the movement is up and down, it is most likley a bad axle bearing and/or axle shaft.
If the movement is in and out, don't worry. That is normal. That movement can sometimes be reduced by replacing the axle c-clip.
