2001 Chevy Silverado belt replacement

I have trouble placing belt to idealer pully, have it routed to pully but cant get it on, have tried to back of pully to see if spring loaded but does not work or look right. what tool do I need or do I have to try a different route

Please post what Silverado series (1500, 2500, etc, HD or non-HD) and engine size. Post the belt size that you had purchased. Did it measure to the same length of the old belt? Did you see any markings on the old belt? List all accessory pulleys you may have: P/S, A/C etc.. Belt Routing 43.L V6
