I put my truck in 4 wheel drive during a snow storm. Next morning I tried to shift back to 2 Hi and all the lights flashed and I got a Service 4 Wheel Drive message. I cannot get the truck to shift back to 2Hi.
I rarely use 4 wheel drive. The car was in park when I shifted to 4 wheel drive and when I tried to shift back. Weather was in the teens when this happened. It's been two weeks. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Scan the transfer case control module for codes first. My suspicions are an encoder or transfer case position sensor, just a guess at this point.
