2000 Chevy Silverado turn signals

Did the emergency flasher button work until recently or has it always been broken? As far as the turn signal, check the status of the bulb filament. If it is OK, inspect the socket of the tail light for corrosion. Check for continuity for the right rear signal and check the ground wire for good contact.
