2000 Chevy Silverado Problem with my gas gauge and battery

I have 2000 chevy silverado, 6 cylinder. It has about 157K miles. The problem that I have with this truck is my gas gauge show full all the times and my battery light came on whenever I started up and also sometimes gas gauge would show empty. If someone have this same proplem or anyone could give me direction what to look for. Thank you.

Get the alternator load tested and then check the fuel sending unit
