2000 Chevy Silverado OBD code P0430

2000 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Ive got a DTC code P0430 which translates to Catalyst System Efficiency below Threshold (bank 2).

What could be causing this code which in turn has the service engine light on.

Any help will be great.

the cat converter is no good. this code is cut and dry.
