Recently I went to take a drive and i noticed that my low fuel light had come on. Thinking I shouldn't be low on fuel it didn't seem right. Then I noticed the gas gauge was not working. To be sure I went directly to the gas station and put in a significant amount of fuel, to no avail. Still no gauge and low fuel light still on. Any suggestions?

the sending unit in the tank could be bad,
the instrument cluster could be bad,
or any of the wires in between.

I've had good luck with using Chevron fuel injector cleaner to help clean up a bad sending unit.
