My truck was running fine all weekend, Monday morning put it in reverse and nothing. There is a loud noise coming from the front end that goes away when in drive. It will go into drive but won't shift out of 2nd. On top of that the brake pedal seems squishy too. I know these transmissions are known to go out. But want to be sure that is the issue. Never had any warning signs ie. slipping, shifting hard.

Is the noise from the transmission area or further forward? Also, can you describe the sound?
