I have a 99 Chevy 2500. Old body style. Sometimes, when I would kill my truck, everything would die. I would have to tighten the already tight battery cables a bit, before I could crank it. We it would crank, I would have to give it some gas to stay running. Thats one problem. The other is, that when I did get it cranked that one time,I held it to the floor for just a bit. When it idle back down, it started making a chirpping noise. I have no smoke, and the oil pressure is fine. The oil looks good, added lucas to it, no help. The noise alternates all over the motor. Sounds like it is coming from the front one time, then the back the next. The push rods, and all is fine. Could this be a Rod Bearing? It used to just tap when I first crank it, and when I get over 2500rpms. One day I went to pass a car, and it just came unwound. It taps hard all the time. Its not a knock though. Please help.
