1996 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

my key wont turn,can't turn the key to start the truck or unlock the stearing.Can i fix this problem or do i have to replace the ignition keylock tubler/SWITCH

Make sure the key is good. I have seen keys that have worn to a point they no longer work. As far as replacement, if you determine the tumbler is bad, it will need replaced. Keep in mind, if you have an air bag, you need to disconnect the battery at least 15 minutes prior to working on it because you can deploy the air bag with static. Also, the truck most likely has a factory security system which means you need to have a key with the resister in it that matches the truck or it needs to be reset by a dealer.
