1992 Chevy Silverado Valve Clatter

I have a 1992 chevy truck, It just started clattering like valve clatter. I can retard the timing and it will stop but it dont want to run good. I tuned it up, double and trippled check the fireing order and the gap, I replaced the knock senor and also the black rectangel elctronic under the distributor cap. it is timed in at 0 BTC and it just will not stop clattering...It has good oil pressure also....please help this is my sons truck and I am a diable vet and I do not have a lot of money for repair bills thanks.

Its probably pinging because the knock sensor is not doing its job retarding the ignition timing or an EGR valve that's not opening.
