1992 Chevy Silverado Compressor Turns On and Off

When I turn on the A/C I can hear the compressor kick on, but about 5 seconds later it kicks off and then this just keeps repeating. Eventually the air gets somewhat cool, but it takes a long time.

usually means you have a leak in the system and your low on freon.
