i just given a 1991 chevy 1500 4x4 with a 350 motor. the truck runs great but does not move. if you shift through the gears it dosent make any weird noises, motor does not bog down, just added fluid to make sure it had enough and thats good, the previous owner just put the transmission in. i checked the linkages for proper travel and it seems to work ok, is there any tests or things to look for that would help diagnose the problem.

If the fluid is full and the linkage is working, either you have a problem with the valve body or the trans needs overhauled.
