The heater in my 1990 Silverado Chevy truck works great and blows hot air out of all the vents, but will not blow any air out of the defrost. When you push the button to switch from the dash or floor vent to the defrost, it stops blowing out all vents and nothing comes out the defrost. I don't know if this is a problem with the switch, or something else. Please let me know asap, I live in Alaska and will be on a long road trip through Canada soon and I'll have to have a defrost. Thank you for your time.

Actually, the vents are actuated by vacuum. Thus, you either have a stuck vent or a vacuum leak. Check under the dash for leaks. IF the engine is running, you may hear a hissing sound.

Let me know what you find.
