1985 Chevy Silverado engine not turning over

engine had some knocking so i put oil in truck knocking quite down than after trying to make it home knocking started back, now it wont even try to turn over

Pull the spark plugs out and manually try to turn the crankshaft to verify the engine isn't locked up.
