motor runs but as soon as you come to a stop, engine quits. wont idle at all

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also, have you tried adjusting the idle screw to see if that will help? It is what the throttle lever rests on. If you tighten it, it will holed the throttle open a little further. Thus, it raises the idle.
