Hi there,

If the engine is consuming large quantities of oil, it may be time to check the engine for an overhaul. Do a compression test and check the plugs for a build up of oil deposits, do an oil pressure test as well, use a master gauge and get hot reading. If the compressions are marginal and even, be care full about doing a top end overhaul only, as this will put extra strain on the bottom end ( increased compression) and the oil problem may get worse. If you have any doubts post your findings here for an assessment.
