I have a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 4 Cyl Manual with 26,000 miles on it. When the temperature drops down to around 20 degrees and below it takes almost 10 mins of on and off cranking to get it to start. While cranking as soon as the check engine light clicks on, it will start up and the check engine light goes out. After the vehicle has warmed up it will start up, unless you let it sit for awhile. If it's really cold it will not start at all. The fuel pump is kicking on when you turn the key and the fuel pressure is good. The ECM was swapped out to see if that was the problem, and it didn't fix it. Any ideas would be greatly apprieciated.

For a start you could check the coolant temperature sensor that's the choke for a fuel injected engine. Might also want to remove the idle air control valve and EGR valve and clean it.

5yrs has passed, when was the last tune-up?

I purchased the truck in 2006, it only had one prior owner and i'm not sure if it has had a tune up.

The check engine light is it On or has flashed?

Normally a cold starting problems are related to fuel. Lets recheck the fuel pressure with a gauge with and without the regulator

Or do this when it refuses to start check for spark-disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 ground it to the engine while cranking it over-Do you have spark?
