2002 Chevy S-10 will not kick in 4 wheel drive

we replaced elec.shift motor an the push button to kick it in only lights up when u start it an gose out plus we changed the elec, module an still will not kick in

disconnect the battery to reset the transfer case control module, see if that does it.
