2002 Chevy S-10 electronic 4x4 light

My 4x4 light is not on nor is it engaging. The vanity mirror lights and dome lights are also not coming on. Are all related to one another? Where should I go first to trouble shoot the problem?

check fuses
as a 1st step
get the fuses checked
