My distributor cap squeaks off and on. Could you please give me some insight as to what may be causing this? Thanks

It doesn't seem to be loose. Could it be a bearing or some other part inside it?
I appreciate your help.

There is a bushing at the top and bottom. You might try to spray some penetrating lube as near the shaftand below the reluctor. That is the only part that spins inside the distributor. YOu might also changing your rotor inside the distributor as maybe the spring has come loose that holds it in place. Other than that without looking at it it's hard to say.
