I took my 2002s10 to a repair ship because the check engine light came on and they told me it is a falty air pump system that GM now make an entire replacement kit for and the cost will be $525.00

Does this sound right? and is this a high charge for this?

thats a reasonable price altho that may not be the first step you could take, you may be able to get a part from a junk yard first...
