When the heat is on and the truck is idling it blows cold air. The temp. gage stays where it should be (195 deg.) When the truck is at 1500rpm or more hot air then comes out. Is this a vaccuum problem and where do I start?

It is a used truck I just purchased and had been sitting awhile. I drove the truck hard for one day and now everything seems to be working properly. Not sure what was wrong.
