Take 4 bolts out of rear of drive shaft. Use flat pry bar to pry driveshaft towards front of trans. Drive shaft will drop. Be careful. Next, get a pan. Your gonna loose your trans fluid. Pull drive shaft out of tranny.
OK, Fun part.
Need 2 2x4s, to lay drive shaft on, with ends of shaft overhangin. Now find socket that fits prfectly over caps of u joint and hammer/vise grips. Flat screwdriver and pry retaining clips off. Hold drive shaft down, put socket in vise grip, so u dont smash hand. Place socket directly over u joint cap in shaft and hit with hammer forcing the u joint down. Taking the front off is the same, except take a little fiddling.
Now repeat prosses to install new joint, but put ends on enven/level surface. Be careful with caps. Some contain roller barrings. Dont let them get dirty.
Good Luck, This does work, I have a 2x4 and wheel it all the time always replacing mine
