I had my battery light come on and go off and the volts were 1/2 way between 14 and 9. I removed my battery and altenator to have them checked. The battery was bad, but the altenator appeared to be good according to the auto parts store. Today, when the new battery and the altenator were replaced the gage worked fine. Shut off the truck and came back out, started the truck and the battery light came on and the volt gage was back between the 9 and 14. This happened twice. I went home for lunch, and started it again and it took the voltage gage a little while to go back to the 14, where it normally is at, this is after I accelerated. I live only 2 miles from work. My question is...what could be causing the gage to go back to normal so slowly?
