got a scan on my truck was0446

(Evap vent circuit malf.). They told me this was serious.I do have Manuel, reading up on this there is purge solenoid valve on that vent system which they say could be the trouble. Any suggestions before I let them at my truck. As I said money is tight and I have heard horror stories about some of these places. Need some help and advice guys

Hello,

Let me suggest this.

Go by your local Auto Zone and have them pull code and see what they get.

While there ask them to price the valve. If they give you a lower price than what the garage quoted ask them the list price. In most cases you can by the part over the counter cheaper than what a garage will charge.
