My battery light recently turned on in the dash. I replaced the battery as it is 7 years old. The light went off for a few minutes then came back on. What should I be looking for next. I was hoping the alternator is not bad. Thanks

Hello,

When the battery light comes on it is usually an indication that the alternator is not charging the battery as it supposed to.
Which can be because of a bad alternator.
It can also come on if there is a wiring issue. Like a loose cable for the battery terminal.
First check the both of the battery terminal and verify that the cable is secure. Also check for any corrosion on the terminal or on the cable.

You can do test for the alternator, by checking the out put.

Here is a guide of how to do that:

I have attached the diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
