How do I remove the belt? Must I use a special tool to loosen the tension?

there is a tensioner pulley that keep tension in the belt. with a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, there will be a square hole on the pulley, rotate that pulley and the tension will remove from the belt. you can also use a cro-bar to move the pulley in the direction it needs to go.
