2000 Chevy S-10 pcv valve replacement

the pcv valve does not want to come out of the valve cover. i could probably force it with some vice grip pliers. is that normal? the purolator PV900 and ac delco cv900c do not match what i can see of the original. the origanal hose end is bigger and the part that goes in the valve cover has a smaller diameter than the purolator and ac delco replacements.

you sure thats the PCV valve?

they should come out with a little bit of pressure, usually no more then hand strength.
