my chevy s10 pickup has had a squeling fuel pump since i boought it 5 years ago, now it does not make any noise. the first time my truck died i was driving, now it will start when it wants to. it will work for days fine then it will not start. if left alone for a day it will just start again. i have replaced the pressure sencore check the fuses. i poured gas in to make sure it was a gas problem and it starts then dies. my fuel gauge has started to read spontaneously full, empty never what it should read. could this be part of my problem.

I had similar issues with my 94 S-10 pick-up 4 months ago. Ultimately, it was the fuel pump & sending unit. Same situation as you, certain days it would run fine, start numerous times throughout the day and the next day, would not start. I was actualy glad I had the pump replaced when I did. As it turned out, there was a hole in the top of the tank and replaced all 3 components. Now it starts everytime.

Keep your fuel tank at least 1/4 full to keep your pump submerged constantly.
