Hi,
I have a 1998 Chevrolet S10 with a braking problem. When I have to hit the brakes hard they go through a quick cycle of seeming to push forward then the brakes grab with a noise as it lurches your body forward in the cab, it releases and the cycle repeats itself. It is also prone to this cycle when first starting off in the truck particularly if it has been raining. After the truck warms up it seems to brake more normally.

If you have an idea what the problem might be I would appreciate any advice. I have had new brakes and new rotors installed just last month in hopes it would fix it, but it did not.

Have you looked at the rear brakes? Any fluid or axle oil can cause your grabbing problem.
