About a year ago had front and back brake pads and rotors replaced. Yesterday a long bolt flew off my vehicle and suddenly the front driver side brakes started make a loud grinding noise. Drove about a mile, luckily was pulling in my driveway, hit the brakes and the pedal went completely to the floor and NO brakes were present. Is this the master cylinder or did a brake line get damaged? I do not see any leakage.

Without seeing it, it's hard telling what has happened. The olong bolt may be from the stabilizer bar on your fornt end as it may have broke hitting a bump. Have a pro look at it.

Remove the left front tire, and inspect for a broken brake hose, or anything else that doesnt appear normal. By losing your brakes, I suspect a big leak, so you should see a bunch of brake fluid at the source of the failed part. Let us know what you find.
