The turn signals do not work, but the flashers do. The fuses are good. Replaced the switch assembly and it did not fix the problem.

Great. That sounds like a cheap easy fix. Don't feel funny, I've had much easier repairs missed. For example,
"My left high beam doesn't work."
"Have you checked the bulb?"
"No..."
As far as signals, they can actually get confusing and dfficult to diagnose. So, the "dah" you ended with, don't feel funny.
