I replaced the starter/solenoid two weeks ago. It is the second starter I have put on in two years. Everything was working fine but this evening when I tried to start the truck the started grinded for 10 seconds or so before finally turning over. Is this because of a faulty starter, could it have been installed incorrectly, or is there a problem with my flywheel.

Well it could be a bad starter, but your flywheel probably has some worn teeth now. When you remove the starter put a 5/8 socket on the crank bolt in the harmonic balancer and slowly rotate engine clockwise and look at the teeth. You will be able to tell if some teeth are ground down. Hope this helps
