1997 Chevy S-10 no power

When I start off from a dead stop mashing the gas all the way it takes off great. I have to let off the gas to shift into second. The truck will also loose speed while on cruise going up a hill but the RPMs remain the same. I have removed the catalytic converter and no change, also replaced the PCV valve.

If the transmission is not slipping-check and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensors-to include the fuel pressure
