where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 4.3 v-6 engine? My manual just tells me it is not easily accessable. What will I have to take off to get to it?

It is connected to the fuel injector housing located under the upper intake manifold. The upper intake manifold is plastic--and bolts to the lower intake manifold. It must be removed to access the fuel pressure regulator.
