1996 Chevy S-10 junkyard

We just put a junkyard tranny in the truck this weekend, it is now slipping going from 2nd to 3rd gear. Is there possibly something we could do other than replace the unit or should we give it some time. Thank you.

I would not waste my time with junk yard equipment, but if that is your only option i would take it back and get a replacement, i would not spend any money on that one.
